The Clarenville Area Recreation Association(CARA) Summer Program is back and promises to be better than ever. CARA is fully committed to making the program more enjoyable for our youth. Our goal is simply to provide a safe, structured youth program that your kids can enjoy during the summer months, all while being more active.

Details of the CARA Summer Program 2019


  • This year’s summer program is focused on Healthy Active Living and the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle 
  • Families can choose to register for the entire 6-week program, weekly or daily
  • Children will be categorized into one (1) of two (2) age groups:
    • Grades K to 2 
    • Grades 3 to 6 
  • Program will run for a duration of six (6) weeks. Beginning on July 8th and ending on August 16th.
  • The Program will run 5 days a week from Monday to Friday from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm. The drop off and pick up location for the day will either be at the Clarenville Middle School Gym entrance or the Bill Davis Chalet at Elizabeth Swan Park. 
  • Most activities will be in the School or the Bill Davis Chalet. Children are asked to dress appropriately for the scheduled activities. 
  • As your children will be gone for the full day ensure that they have a packed lunch along with snacks and a beverage
  • Each participant will receive a calendar of events for the summer with planned themes, field trips and events prior to the start of the program. 
  • All electronic devices such as Cell Phones, iPads & Tablets are NOT permitted in the program. This includes participants and camp leaders. 
  • The focus of activities will be cooperative games, arts and crafts, music, and sports

Registration Information

  • Online registration will open on Monday, June 10th and close on Wednesday, June 19th. 
  • There will be one day of onsite registration happening on June 12th from 6:00pm - 8:00pm at the Bill Davis Chalet.
